Progression?

Throughout the year’s I believe that society has taken many steps down the right path. There have been many good instances that have worked towards progression and that have brought us closer to the equality of women and men. One example being the 19th Amendment which really helped toward more equality by giving women the right to vote, and I believe that it has given light to the feminist movement. Yet with all progression that has occurred, you’d think that we’d be living in an equal and fair society that didn’t judge you based on gender. Its outrages to know that women have never gotten as equal of treatment as men, and it’s even more outrages to know that a woman makes 77 cents for every dollar that a man will make. A man could easily be working less hard than a woman, but yet he’ll still end up getting a higher pay. It’s not fair and I think that the way things are occurring right now need to change. I’m not saying that women deserve a higher pay than men, nor that a woman should receive higher benefits than those a man receives, but rather I believe everything should be fair and square. It’s a lot to ask for especially considering the fact that the universe has always functioned this way, but it’s not impossible to achieve, and hopefully sometime in our lives we will be present to see it come true.

  1. I also believe that society has progressed but women are still looked upon as inferior. We don’t get the same treatment as men do because society believes we are still different. Although women may be earning less than men, women are still fighting for change. They have moved into jobs that used to be exclusively for men and are still seeking for more opportunities. Slowly, we are progressing and I agree that everyone should embrace equality.
